Research Analyst
Peter Schulte is a Research Analyst for the Pacific Institute’s Globalization Program. His work focuses on corporate water stewardship, including work on the UN Global Compact's CEO Water Mandate. His efforts on this initiative include research on corporate water reporting, accounting methodologies, and business engagement with water policy. Schulte has also worked on international standards for environmental stewardship and social responsibility and the Alliance for Water Stewardship - an emerging certification program for fresh water.
Before joining the Institute, Schulte worked as a commercial fisherman in Alaska and studied fisheries management on the Copper River for the Eyak Preservation Council. In early 2008, he conducted an independent research project on the impacts of aquaculture on fisheries conservation in Lake Volta, Ghana as a recipient of University of California, Berkeley’s Center for African Studies’ Rosberg-Geist Undergraduate Research Fellowship.
Schulte holds a B.S. in Conservation and Resource Studies and a B.A. in Comparative Literature from the University of California, Berkeley.
