Global Warming and the Emerging Water Crisis in China and California

Heather Cooley to Speak at Asia Society Panel on January 14

OAKLAND, CALIF. :  Heather Cooley, senior research associate at the Pacific Institute, is a panelist at the Asia Society's program "Global Warming and the Emerging Water Crisis in California and China." Cooley joins fellow panelist Saleem Ali of the University of Vermont, visiting fellow at Brookings Institution's Doha Center, and moderator Richard Drobnick, director of the Center for International Business Education and Research at the USC Marshall School of Business. They will discuss the dimensions of the water crisis in California and China today, with issues of population growth, urbanization, pollution, and inadequate infrastructure that may be exacerbated by climate change impacts.
