Municipal Deliveries of Colorado River Basin Water: New Report Examines 100 Cities and Agencies

Overview

In 2008, the Colorado River basin was supplying water to over 35 million people in seven U.S. states as well as Baja California, Mexico. This report is the first to compile real population and water delivery information numbers for the 100 cities and agencies delivering water from the basin. The report documents the substantial water-efficiency gains made over the past twenty years by these agencies. It suggests these agencies’ practices could be adopted or emulated by less water-efficient providers.
