The CEO Water Mandate

CEO Water MandateLaunched in July 2007 by United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and a group of committed businesses, the United Nations Global Compact's CEO Water Mandate is a unique public-private initiative designed to assist companies in the development, implementation, and disclosure of water sustainability policies and practices. Visit The CEO Water Mandate's webpage.

Under a Memorandum of Understanding between the Pacific Institute and the U.N. Global Compact Office, Jason Morrison serves as the project coordinator for The CEO Water Mandate, supporting the initiative with applied research, event organization, and other services. Designed to assist companies in developing a comprehensive approach to water management, it addresses six key areas: Direct Operations, Supply Chain and Watershed Management, Collective Action, Public Policy, Community Engagement, and Transparency. The initiative seeks to mobilize a critical mass of companies in all regions of the world, and assists endorsers through multi-stakeholder dialogues, facilitation with partnerships, and the dissemination of existing and new tools as well as other best practice guidance resources.
